British Monarchs on Matchboxes

British Monarchy

The British Monarchy is one of the oldest and most recognized institutions in the world, symbolizing continuity and tradition. Spanning over a thousand years, it has evolved from absolute power to a constitutional monarchy. The monarchy played a significant role in shaping British culture, politics, and global influence, with iconic figures like Queen Elizabeth I, who oversaw the Elizabethan Era, and Queen Victoria, under whom the British Empire reached its zenith. In modern times, the monarchy remains a symbol of unity and national identity, with ceremonial duties and charitable works marking its presence in the 21st century.
