I joined the AMCCS Adelaide branch about 15 years ago and am secretary of the club. I remember talking at one exhibition with a famous collector, Peter Jansen,
and he told me that the match label field was so vast that it was best to concentrate on just a few topics. Jansen specialised in labels from just 4 countries and I
thought that was a good idea. I most like the Indian labels for the artwork which is very attractive. I also collect Japanese labels and a subset of Chinese labels made by
Japan which were issued in China when Japan had a territorial concession in Shanghai up until 1937 , after which they invaded the rest of China.
I also like early 20th century USA matchbook covers which have great artwork. However, they are hard to come by in Australia these days.
